Prepare your Figma file

Text and fonts

Keeping copy editable, and what happens to the fonts you used.

Use real text

Use real Figma text for anything that should stay editable copy.

Outlined or flattened text becomes a picture and cannot be changed afterwards.

Styled runs
Bold or coloured words inside a sentence survive as formatting.
Icon fonts
Text set in an icon font becomes a picture. Use real vectors instead.
Empty text
Text layers with no visible characters are exported as graphics.

Fonts

Custom fonts are detected before the build starts, and you are asked to upload the files.

Font upload
Formats
woff, woff2, ttf, or otf, up to 5MB each
Weights
Thin through Black, one slot per family and weight
If you skip
The build uses fallback fonts instead

Webflow needs the fonts too

Install them in your Webflow site before pasting, otherwise text falls back to Arial no matter what you uploaded to UpBuilder.
  1. 1Keep copy as real text layers
  2. 2Upload the font files when setup asks
  3. 3Install the same fonts in your destination
