Export

Elementor

Downloading the template kit and importing it into WordPress.

How the export works

You download a template kit ZIP containing one JSON per page, plus a global styles template.

Individual pages can also be downloaded as single JSON files.

Before you export

WordPress

Elementor Pro
Only if your design uses a menu, form, slides, or testimonial carousel.
An unlock
A one-time project unlock, or a Max subscription.
No Pro licence? Turn off Use Pro widgets in the plugin export settings before building, and free equivalents are built instead.

    Fix the three gotchas

Page template, menu, and images. See below.

Finishing in Elementor

Three things surprise people after the import. All three are quick to fix.

Known gotchas
Theme chrome
Pages import on Elementor Canvas, so your theme header and footer are hidden. Change the page template if you want them back.
Menus
The menu widget renders empty until you create a WordPress menu and point the widget at it.
Images
They stay hosted by UpBuilder and are not added to your media library. Re-upload them if you want your site to host them.
Layouts use flex and grid containers, not the older section and column model, so they stay editable with Elementor’s current tools. See Elementor components.
